Fairlop Outdoor Activity Centre, Forest Road, Barkingside, IG6 3HN
The official VisionRCL information page for the centre is here: https://visionrcl.org.uk/centre/fairlop-outdoor-activity-centre/
The centre holds Royal Yachting Association (RYA) and British Canoeing (BC) approval as well as being licenced by the Adventurous Activities Licencing Authority (AALA). You can join in the sessions on a pay as you go basis or the centre offers an all inclusive annual membership. The centre runs courses regularly throughout the year, but if you would like a course on a specific date they can put one together. Whether you want a development programme, a one off taster session or a multi activity day, FOAC can help. The centre has experienced and friendly staff that can provide assistance on GCSE Modules, BTEC sport courses, Duke of Edinburgh Awards, Scout and Guide badges and more. The centre is part of the RYA sailability scheme which encourages and supports people with disabilities to take up the sport and facilitate sites to develop sailing opportunities.
Parking is avaialble using Ringo in the adjacent public car park. Note that this is not the car park with the big ‘Fairlop Waters’ 3D signage right on the roundabout- it’s the smaller one further up the road. The car park code is in fact shared by both car parks if you do get the wrong one or if you fancy a hot drink at the other end of the lake after being ont he water. Neither car park takes cash so you need a mobile phone to pay.
